| dc.description.abstract | The whole educational system from elementary to tertiary level has been collapsed during the lockdown period of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) not only in Ghana but across the globe. The purpose of this study is to investigate the unexpected changes to online teaching and learning after and during COVID-19. The study area was at the Kwadaso Municipal District in the Ashanti region of Ghana. The study respondents from the district involved with teachers who were at the Christian Service University College, Ghana. A systematic sampling technique was applied to select a sample size of two hundred and ten (210) students from the population of 2,304 and the twenty (20) lecturers. Systematic sampling was used, such that 10% of the student population and 50% of the teacher population were chosen for the research. Hence, the total sample size will be 230 participants. The study employed quantitative design which was a descriptive survey approach. The study used both stratified sampling and simple random sampling technique in selecting the samples for the research. Hence, the data analysis was emphasized on 230 respondents. Questionnaire items which were used in the data collection were all adapted from other research works. Data analysis was done using descriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviation, frequencies and percentages from SPSS (version 23). The study concluded based on the objectives, that Prevalent use of online teaching Platforms, factors driving Online Learning Adoption, challenges in Online learning, Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Online Learning. The study also Recommended that, to cater to diverse preferences and needs, educational institutions should consider offering a variety of online teaching platforms. Online Platforms should prioritize user-friendliness and accessibility. Institutions should invest in platforms that are easy to navigate and offer clear instructions, as this can help reduce technical challenges for both educators and students. | |
